The 21 and 22 October event in Paris will be a high point in the mobilisation of Progressives towards COP21, as can be seen by the attached programme. For nearly a month from the beginning of the climate conference in Paris, experts such as Michel Aglietta and Teresa Ribera will focus on the challenges of this important event for the future of our planet. In the light of the latest items, they will draw up the outlines of an agreement that has the challenge to mix ambition and consensus.

Moving from words to action, the European Progressive leaders will present and sign a joint declaration in the presence of the French Prime Minister Manuel Valls.

With 21 proposals, this statement aims to make the COP21 a meeting as important as it’s challenges. These commitments are related to the crucial aspects of the negotiations: the form of the agreement, the exemplary nature of the European Union, the financial dimension, the North-South cooperation and the involvement of non-state actors.

The meeting of October 22nd will be devoted to an exchange with progressive young people from across Europe.
